Leeds is quickly becoming the heart of the UK's Film and TV production, typically London and Manchester have always lead the way with this but now Leeds is taking its turn in the spotlight and it's doing it very well. Leeds is now a prime location for filmmakers, production companies and digital creatives.
Channel 4 recently established its regional headquarters in Leeds which brought alot of attention to the city with a surge of investment and job opportunities being created by this change. The Versa Studios in leeds has also contributed alot to the production space, they are responisble for some very big TV and film projects. Now besides shows like 'Emmerdale' Leeds is getting even bigger gigs from companies like Netflix & BBC
Leeds now has a growing pool of creative talent. Univerisities like Leeds Beckett & Leeds Art University are now producing the next generation of creative talents such as filmmakers, VFX artists and animators and attracting more from other cities with its events like Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF).
With all this said there is just one question left to answer, Will leeds overtake Manchester as the norths go to film hub?
