Myself

I gained an interest for graphic design at the age of 11, back then I didn't have the money for programmes such as Adobe illustrator or photoshop. I joined groups on twitter and asked around what people in similar positions to me did and was reccomened all the free phone and computer apps I needed and even found some myself.
I started teaching myself how to create posters and logos and even character designs through tutorials and trial and error and started posting about my skills on twitter and in the comment sections of YouTube videos and surprisingly quickly I got commission requests from people to create logos, banners and illustrated characters and sometimes even animation introductions. I never felt like I needed to charge much or even at all for these projects because I found so much enjoyment in the creative process and saw it more as a creative outlet.
Fast forward 10 years and I still have the same passion for creative media and have even picked up some new skills along the way, which is why I joined the creative media technologies course at Leeds Beckett and couldn't be happier with my decision. Besides university work and assignments I still keep up with creative media communities online and even have some of my own projects I add to when I have free time. I'm excited to be able to do a passion I found when I was so young as a full time job and can't wait to network and meet similar minds within the industry.
